Since 1350, the Bichot family, whose emblem is a deer, has made Burgundy its home. In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded a merchant house bearing his name. In 1912 Albert Bichot, conscious of his family history, moved the negociant house to Beaune and his son, also named Albert, was the first to travel the world and promote the merit of the family wines. In 1937 the House became the official suppliers of the Swedish court.

The family heritage has been perpetuated from father to son since then. Through the generations, Albert Bichot has acquired vineyards in the most reputed growing areas. Now, the House owns 100 hectares (245.7 acres) of vineyards in Chablis, Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.

Since 1996 the sixth generation of the Bichot family, embodied by Albéric Bichot, has run the house. Under his momentum, an upstream quality control strategy was developed at the beginning of the 1980s, in the logic of getting the best fruit to create the best wine and best express terroir. The House has twice been honored at the prestigious International Wine Challenge, in 2004 & 2017 as Red Winemaker of the Year and again in 2011 as the White Winemaker of the Year.
